Middleton's Black & Mild Wine Cigars: This Non-Smoker Loves the Smell, Not the Habit

My husband is a smoker. However, what he smokes is not cigarettes; he smokes cigars. His favorite was Middleton's gold and mild until recently. Now, Middleton has a new flavor in the black-and-mild line: wine.

 

When he lit it up, the scent was amazing. And for me to say that, is also amazing! I complain about smokers and smoking! I am not a smoker; however I have been known to enjoy a very rare cigar once in a while.

Since the odor peaked my interest, with what seemed to be grape-like to me, I asked my husband to hand it over and let me try it. I took it in, and tasted. It seemed OK, so I thought maybe I had better try another. I took another puff. What was very different about the whole experience, after you have stopped, inhaled and licked your lips, it was like you had just had a glass of wine! I am not kidding! The after taste, is just like it! Not a little, a lot! Not exaggeration here, I thought it was quite enjoyable. I was not expecting it, because my husband "likes" to smoke, I was certain he was just carrying on, because it was new and different. It is an acquired taste, and definitely different, and quite enjoyable, all wrapped up into one!

Unlike the gold and mild that my husband usually gets, that taste like crap when they are lit, and smell like it too, this was much better all the way around. I was impressed!

The unfortunate thing about this new cigar, is I almost had my husband to the point of quitting. He had slowed down to maybe a cigar a week. Then these came out, and he truly likes them. And to ask my husband why he smokes, his answer, is "Because I like it." He says, it's not that it's a habit; it's just that he truly enjoys smoking.

Now that these are out, he is back up to five cigars a day. And that's how these come, five to a pack.
The pricing for the cigars is different with most any location, but ranges to a little over two dollars a pack. These cigars are made by John Middleton, and the location of his company is in King of Prussia,  Pennsylvania. On the package is no toll free number, or web site. The cigars are made of a fine blend of pipe tobacco. According to the AC Nielsen ratings, in 2004 Black and Mild were the top selling cigars in the US!

They come filtered or unfiltered, the choice is yours. The ones with the tip are plastic. They have several different flavors including: Apple, and Cherry. There are others, also. They even have another version, called Fast Break Black, which is half the size of a regular cigar.

They have four different surgeon general warnings that they have placed on their cigars. I have found and written down each warning, with each pack that we have bought. The warnings vary with each And every pack. Here they are for your viewing pleasure:

I do not promote smoking, as I stated above, it is something that I dislike a great deal. But if you must smoke, or have to smell it-advise your smoking friend- to try these. Or even try them yourself. I think you will be impressed too! It is very appealing all the way around. I do hope that they get enough sales of this, to keep the product line up and running. I do know that companies discontinue things for low sales, and popularity.

On a scale of one to ten, I give this a nine. Why a nine? Because I don't truly promote smoking.

McDonald's Signature Peaches and Cream Pie

       

Recently I decided to try one of McDonald's signature pies, the "Peaches and Cream" pie. And to be completely honest with you, I figured it would be "Just ok." Nothing elaborate, or anything, after all, it is fast food.

But low and behold, I was ultimately impressed, it tasted like Heaven to me. I haven't tasted a peaches and cream pie like that....ever. Not even store bought, or home made, how sad is that? 

And when I was younger, the pies used to be fried, now the are healthier and baked. The pie I had was warm, fresh, and quite tasty. 

I was and am impressed with this pie, including the price, being two for one dollar. Quality fast food, at quality prices, worth it, when made and served right.

I realize this pie is a signature pie, meaning it is limited edition, and only out on the market during certain time frames. However, I still am quite satisfied, and would be even more so, should it be added to the permanent menu.

For your convenience I have decided to look up nutrition facts and calories, but could only find the "Peach Pie" not the "Peaches and Cream Pie" information no matter how hard I searched. I apologize, but this is the best I could find:

They also offer you the pleasure of trying them before buying, giving you a Month for free, to see if their business is in fact what you had hoped or anticipated it would be.

I am a Notary Public, as well a Criminal Justice Major, as well as a Landlord, and Manager of an entire Community. 

Even before purchasing my year at www.beenverified.com I have had a cyber bully, one that anyone that knows me, knows about. This person stalks me on www.facebook.com as well as www.twitter.com and at one time had written blogs about me, until forced to delete them. 

This very same person has posted several false reports on and about me on www.cyberbullyingreport.com (<~~~this site has been reported by many to the FBI!) including the release of my social security number, which remained on their site for several days, and then managed to be picked up and farmed out by other hackers and internet criminals, and reposted elsewhere. 

Because of the release of my social security number; along with my phone number, email address, home address, date of birth, and yes: even an imaginary figure claiming to be my weight: the bank account that my husband and I hold together was now compromised, as well as my www.paypal.com account, and other things. Instantly we were drained of funds, and everything about me was all over the net for all to see, the only choice I had was to keep an eye on my own identification, and protect my own asset: myself. Therefore, under the advisement of counsel and the Police, we sought out my credit reports, and then joined www.beenverified.com to keep an eye on anything and everything happening to and about me, especially with my own name and social security number.

In the meantime, a friend of mine, whom is also being bullied, also by my cyber bully as well as others- I had decided to offer up my services of my account to check my friends’ own name out for him, since people are accusing him of being a pedophile, and other malicious things. He gave me permission. This is all happening on www.twitter.com and I have all of the tweets to verify this factor, as well as the proof from the person in question, who is willing to attest to this factor, and has claimed to have contacted www.beenverified.com on my behalf.

In the meantime, my cyber bully, contacted the www.beenverified.com as well as the www.twitter.com account @Beenverified and tells them publicly that  I am using my account for illegal activities, including researching my bully, as well as other things. The www.beenverified.com twitter account gives my bully the toll free number to contact them. At this point, my Bully proceeds to call them and accuse me of many things, until finally after several calls, they finally decide to suspend my account. 

I didn’t find out it was suspended until I had to use their services again, which I did so when checking on my social security number activity as I did each and every week religiously. 

The representative point blank told me who the complaint came from, and what was said, and that it had originated on www.twitter.com, which I had already knew, because my cyber bully, was kind enough to link my name into the conversation. 

The woman on the other end of the phone whom identified herself as “Heather” asked me if I was a Landlord. I answered yes. I do not and did not lie. Rather than ask me what I used my account for, or research the history, to wit I know she or any computer geek can do, she said: “Ma’am I regret to inform you that you cannot use our services to screen your tenants.”

I responded with, “I never said I was. I haven’t yet. I haven’t needed to, my tenants have all been Floridians thus far and I simply run them through  “Brevard County EFacts Page” located at: http://webinfo4.brevardclerk.us/facts/facts_search.cfm which is a local page, which is not your page, and has nothing to do with you.” 

“Mrs. Williams I have a report here from one Mrs……….. who claims she tried to rent from you and you turned her and her husband down after you ran their credit and back ground check through our system, and informed her as such, according to her. She claims to have this written in writing and signed by you.” The person whose name I have omitted, is of course, my cyber bully. And the woman has never applied to live in any of my homes, no matter what she says; or should I say: believes.

“Sadly, I regret to inform you that the person in question is my cyber bully, and has never applied to live in any of my residences, rentals, or places that I Manage.  You have been misinformed.” I explained.

“Regretfully, this complaint came through and now that you and I have spoken, and you admitted to me that you are in fact a LandLord, I will be in fact refunding you the whole $99.00 and closing out your account. I apologize for this inconvenience.” Heather, of www.beenverified.com explained.

“This is totally wrong and fraudulent! You are taking the word of a known and convicted felon over a known business woman, whom is trying to protect herself and her assets! And you are refusing my monies over this? How can you do this?! I cannot believe this is happening.” I gasped in utter awe.

“Ma’am you can just as easily open another account under another email address. All you need to do is not let Mrs. …….. know what that email address is, and she will be unable to report you. The fact that you provided her with your email address, is the only way she sought you out and reported you this time. Otherwise, her claims would have just been unsubstantiated. Do you understand what it is that I am telling you Mrs. Williams?” Heather of www.beenverified.com stressed to me, as she spoke several words slower then others, as if to make a point. 

“I think what you’re basically saying is this account is closed all because some person can say whatever they want, and that because she knew my email address, and I told the truth about being a LandLord- never stating I did anything you in fact said I did; that I can open another account I just have to use another email address, and not let the woman know it. That I can do, no problem.” I responded, still quite irritated.

“I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with you Mrs. Williams, but with what you have going on, I would suggest enrolling in www.beenverified.com to protect yourself and your assets and I do apologize that it has came to this. Please have a nice day.” And she hung up on me.

For Months, I sat quietly and discreetly until one day, my friend asked me a few questions about how I was doing, and why my cyber bully, was back to attacking me so hard. I at the point, made it public on www.twitter.com what had been happening, and it was then that I noted that the www.twitter.com account @beenverified had blocked me. 

The person whom I ran a back ground check on, with their permission posted publicly to the www.twitter.com account @beenverified and he also sent an email to them and informed them as well; that he had given me permission. If he received a response, he never stated as such, so I presume he too was ignored. 

My cyber bully, again, links to @beenverified and thanks them for blocking me, and banning me from their server and cancelling my account. This person states they feel safer now, and so should the rest of the World. 

Recently; I contacted www.beenverified.com and spoke with a Supervisior, or at least someone pretending to be, named Marcus Bishop. He told me that yes; if you know the account holders email address, and know for a fact and state as such that a person is doing bad things with their www.beenverified.com account, they will refund and close anyone’s account without any just cause or proof, just to protect the Public. Especially if the person making the complaint has done their research, and finds that the person in question is violating the TOS (Terms of Service) to their company. But again, they do not require any proof, whatever you as the complaining party says, is fact; as far as their concerned.

My question to you is this, if you don’t want a person to look up another person, than why make the company in the first place?! 

Next, although I did not do what it is that I am accused of, I find it unjust and wrong to automatically just believe everything you hear to be true and fact. I do not appreciate the fact I was not even given my own chance to defend myself, instead I was asked a question, and then judged, on that in itself, which had nothing to do with why I had in fact joined www.beenverified.com in the first place. 

So my honest opinion about www.beenverified.com is and could be a good service, the price is right, but they obviously have fine print, and that fine print changes daily. I like the fact that every time I have called in, I did get a very good speaking English American person who took the time to speak to me, and am grateful that I spoke to a real person and not robots! I am glad that they do not give out social security numbers to people when you search them out, and that they do protect people’s privacy in that aspect. I also do like the convenience of their mobile application for my Android phone. I was impressed that although I had been with them for well over 6 months, when the fraudulent complaint came in about me, they refunded me the entire price and did not chop it up for the months prior that I had already used. 

However, I am deeply unimpressed with the fact that customers can call in and lie, and that the www.twitter.com account is also into playing the childish net games and plays into encouraging cyber bullying. Whomever is running the internet www.twitter.com account for @beenverified for the last nine months, I honestly feel needs removed. They are delusional and if they have and are doing this to anyone else, I feel sorry for the other parties. Someday, I hope to see this account act more professional and at the very least post a public apology. 

www.beenverified.com I give your services sadly a one out of five stars. You are very unprofessional and do not have a clue what you’re doing. You need to come up with a better plan, the customer is not always right. Sometimes the customers lie. I strongly suggest doing your own homework before judging and out casting stones. Your services could be a great thing, sadly you are unable to let it amount to such.

One night my husband and I mysteriously were up late sitting in bed talking, and the TV was running, and as the shows go off the air, Infomercials turn on. Usually, this is when we realize its late, and turn the TV off.

Not this time, this time, a few words catch our ears, promising the end of pain and misery.

We listen intensely, and watch and learn. Never do they mention pricing, they just keep offering testimonials, and showing you satisfied customers, and describing how the products work, and their guarantee. On and on, still no price. More or less, we are being teased.

We have the money in the bank, we were just paid. No eight hundred number, nothing. We have now watched this show for over and hour! Were already sold! I'm not kidding!

I get out my purse, and have my credit card ready, and tell my husband point blank, "I'm getting one for me knee, and if they're cheap enough, I'm getting two!" He looks at me and says, "Well I want one for my back, or even my shoulder too. So I think a T-shirt would work for me, it depends on how much they are..."

Finally after forty five minutes the toll free number comes onto the screen as well as a web site. Since they offered a web site, I logged on to that. 

We ordered my two knee braces, and his T shirt and spent a total of ninety three dollars, shipping was totally and completely free. It said it would take six weeks, but we had everything in the following week. I put mine on immediately, because I am getting to know it within my thirty days or its going back if its a scam. My husband is still at work.

As soon as I put on both knee braces, I could feel relief instantly, like my knees were getting a massage. I'm not kidding, it was like tiny little fingers were gently caressing my knees all day long.

Within two days my knee felt like a totally new knee and I was no longer limping. I totally took the brace off of the other knee, because it was no where as bad, and it had already done something to the other one, and it was no longer aching what so ever. The other one, is so damaged it is pathetic. But it is the same knee, that I have had my hip replacement on, so it has been through a lot, and I have twisted it, spun it, torn it, and presently I'm pretty certain I have "Water on the knee" or something. I cannot get it taken care of much having a hip replacement in the very same leg, though, and all anyone cares to do, is blame my weight for everything, rather then take and look at me.

When my husband came home, he put on his T-shirt, and he said he didn't feel anyone massaging him, and that it didn't help with his lower back, but it did help with his shoulder. He has had surgery on his lower back, as well as; on one of his shoulders, and both of his shoulders are just as bad right now, and he believes they both need operated on now. He is a lot more active then I am, he didn't seem as impressed as I am, but he did say they helped, and yes he wanted to keep his shirt, and would like to try and get more and other products when we get the money.

We both believe in the Tommie Copper products and suggest that you give them a try, they are worth the money they cost.

A few Months ago I needed to get quite a few Money Orders. Seeingthat I am continually watching the commercial for AmScot on the television, Idecided I would check out to see if everything they offered and said was true.They are supposed to be open twenty four hours a day, three hundred and sixtyfive days of the year and Money Orders are supposed to be free, and on theircommercials, customers ask, “Come on, they can’t be free! There has to be somekind of charge!” And the teller on the commercial promises, “That’s right,free!” So here I am in need of nine Money Orders, and I always round up myfigures, I am not one who pays the ninety nine cents, instead I will round upto the next dollar. So my figures are all set, and planned out, ready to go.

When I get there, the place is quite packed and a teller hollershello to me, and points for me, to head to her window and I do. She is stillassisting another so I stand quietly. Once she completes with them, she comesover to me. She asks me what I need and I tell her that I need nine MoneyOrders. She looks quite shocked like she has never had someone need so manyMoney Orders before. Which, seeing how they Money Orders are free, I don’t seehow that can be so. She steps away from me, and walks over to the counter andgets a sip from her water bottle. She still has yet to find out how much I needthe Money Orders for. 

Now I stand here waiting for her to come back, after her gettingher sip of water from her bottle, now she proceeds to talk to another employeeand now they are staring at me. Have I done something wrong? I look down at myshoes. I sigh, I wore slippers inside, great, I am going to be sent out ofthere because of house slippers. You see, I have pneumonia and feel like crapand it was everything I could do to get dressed, I tied my hair up over my headin a knot, and put on my clothes, a coat, because it is cool outside and blackhouse slippers. Truly it is hard to tell they are slippers, I didn’t think theywould notice. It’s not like I made slipping sliding noises with them when Icame in, I walked normal and picked up my feet. I wonder if that is theproblem?

 

The two employees talk for nearly ten minutes, and finallythe girl who was waiting on me, came back and asked me for my photoidentification. I pulled it from my wallet and gave it to her. She looked atit, typed my information into the computer and then asked me how much I neededthe Money Orders for. I told her and I quote:

 “This will be simple enough foryou, I round up. I need all nine Money Orders for the same amount. Threehundred dollars please.” 

She slammed her hand down on the counter, along withmy driver’s license, deep sighed and gave me the most evil look imaginable. Ifelt like I was about to rob the place. 

I pulled the cash from my wallet, andexplained, “Lady, I do have the cash for them, I promise you.” 

“Oh it’s not that, trust me.” She said. And she walked awayfrom me once again. 

The girl in the window beside me said, “What the heck?”because she seen the whole thing. “I thought the Money Orders were free here?”

I responded with; “I did too, but obviously they come out ofthe employee’s personal wages.”

We both proceeded to laugh.

The teller came back to the window, I asked what the problemwas, she put her finger up into the air; which explains to hold for a minute-andpicked up the phone and dialed, and she dialed with her finger so hard I do notunderstand how the key pad to that is not broken. Now mind you, the cords ontheir phones are quite long, and she managed to stretch it out, and stand nextto another employee, talk about me, and to the person on the phone all at thesame time. This I found quite rude, but apparently this is a practice thatAmScot uses with their employees. 

I heard the teller explain my Money Order amounts, and myname, and everything. She turned away from me and spoke some more whisperingtoo. The other teller was giggling and rolling her eyes as she looked me over.Yes as a matter of fact, I was being judged. I was quite certain of that.

I looked around to see if there were cameras, hoping thatthere were. I had seen several. Good, because I knew I was going to have calland complain. I also knew I was going to use the Social Media to reference thiswhole situation. Customer Service is not suppose to be something that has gonedown the tubes, it is something that Businesses are supposed to strive to useto build up their businesses and impress other Customers as well as otherBusinesses. It’s called good Business ethics. Apparently AmScot never learnedthese Business Principals. 

Once the woman finally finished on the phone, and talking toher Associate, it had been forty five minutes. Yes, you read that right. Why Istood there, because I wanted to see what it was I had done wrong, and I alsowanted to prove to the World, that yes, AmScot does not offer free Money Ordersafter all, because what I am now learning, is apparently, they don’t. 

“Mrs. Williams you’re a Landlord are you not?” she said tome, making sure her Associate heard her from behind.

“Yes, what does that have to do with anything?” I asked.

“I cannot sell you these Money Orders because the money isnot yours and you are depositing it into another’s account.” She said. Noticeshe said “sell”

“That’s where you’re wrong,” I said. “Apparently you like toassume. I am not making any deposits into anyone’s accounts and the money is infact mine! When a tenant pays me rent the money is mine to do with it as I seefit! If I want to pay my FPL, or Cable Bill so be it, it is my choice. And Inever ever told you what I was doing with any of my Money Orders, check yourtapes!” I explained.

“I am sorry, but I am going to be forced to call the IRS toreport you. What you are doing is fraud.” She explained.

“Excuse me? You don’t know what I do, or claim on my taxes!What is your problem?” I gasped. “For all you know I already claimed myrentals, in fact I do taxes myself thank you. I am certified! What is with youreally?” I am getting furiously upset.

The woman beside me steps over to my window and says: “Eithergive her the free Money Orders or take down the sign that says free MoneyOrders!”

We both started laughing.

“You know what Mrs. Williams I am going to be forced to callthe Police, here is your ID, I am calling them right now, I don’t have to putup with this, you are committing Crimes right now and we both know it and thisis illegal!” The teller gasped as she started dialing the phone.

The woman beside me, says: “My word!”

“I’m out of here; I think they have enough on video to provemy point that the free Money Orders are a scam and a farce. This is total bullcrap and I will prove it one way or another.”

I left, and then I went home, posted it on www.twitter.com and www.facebook.com on both of my personalpages and I also found the Companies personal pages on Twitter and Facebook andposted on their walls as well and linked to them. 

Eventually a Mark from Corporate called me, and when he didI ended up arguing with him and hung up on him two times, the third time hecalled back, I finally listened enough and didn’t hang up on him and weconcluded like Adults. 

He apologized, promised me that the District Manager wouldhave a talk with the employee in the store on US 1 in Rockledge. He claims thatthe videos do work, but that they would not need to reference them, that theybelieve Customer complaints. He says Customers do not just call in for anyapparent reason.

He asked what I wanted, I said I did not want the employeeto lose their job; jobs are too hard to come by, however I did want her reprimanded.I was humiliated, and then I had to go elsewhere and spend money on the MoneyOrders. He asked if I wanted to Money Orders refunded, I said it wasn’t the point,he asked how much I spent, I explained seventy cents each times nine which issix dollars and thirty cents. He told me he would send me a check to refundthat, and again apologized. 

I had to explain to Mark, over and over again, that I washumiliated. I also had to explain about how I round up, and that I preferpaying my bills on my own, and that I have a routine. You could tell Mark isfamiliar with handling Customer complaints, as I was quite upset, he stayedvery calm and handled the situation like a professional, unlike his employees. 

Once the check arrived, it came in a card; he wrote more ofan apology and included a gift card for OutBack Steak House for Twenty FiveDollars. That was much unexpected. 

What I received from Mark at AmScot

As you can well enough tell, NO AmScot Money Orders are notalways free, not if you are purchasing for someone else, and/or depositing intosomeone else’s account, and yes there is an asterisks in the fine print thatyou never see. AmScot just doesn’t tell the whole truth.

If they change their practices after this blog post, so be it. Until then, this is how things are handled as of now. Money Orders are not always free. 

And by the way, YES I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau. If you look on their web site, they are supported by the BBB. I believe that's why they made certain to ask that I not make a complaint. I did however, tell them point blank, I would be making this blog post, and I would link them to it. I have nothing to hide, as I did nothing wrong.
